Amazing Food
The food in Belize is so fresh and flavorful. Some of the resorts on the mainland even grow their own gardens onsite.  And if you are into fishing, many restaurants on the island have a ‘you catch we cook’, where you can bring your fresh caught fish and they will prepare it for you. While I was in Belize, we ate at a variety of restaurants; every meal was tasty, from the little whole-in-the-wall café to the fancy sit-down restaurants. And the best part, I found most of the meals to be very reasonably priced, especially in the jungle of Belize.

Friendly People
The people of Belize are some of the friendliest people you will encounter. They truly seem to care about you and want to get to know you. They are helpful and want to have a conversation with you while not wanting anything from you in return. They love to share their knowledge of their country and try to help you have the most enjoyable time while in their country.

Great Diving and Snorkeling
Oh, the amazing sea life! Belize has the second largest barrier reef in the world! It’s a great place to go scuba diving with shallow dives near different parts of the reef or go all out and dive the deep Great Blue Hole. Snorkeling is another great activity. There are some opportunities to snorkel from the shore at different resort docks or go on an amazing snorkeling tour that takes you out to the beautiful reef. I did an unforgettable snorkeling trip and saw so much sea life; things like spotted eagle ray, starfish, manatee, stingrays, seahorses, sharks, and so many colorful fish.








Spoken Language - English
Belize is the only Central American country whose official language is English. It’s great because you never have to worry about that language barrier if you only speak English.

Something for Everyone
The country of Belize is filled with so many great things to do and places to explore. Whether you are just into relaxing on the beach or exploring the jungle. Belize offers some great adventures like hiking in the jungle to waterfalls, tubing through caves to see ancient artifacts, climbing to the top of a Mayan Ruin, exploring wildlife sanctuaries, and snorkeling in the endless aquarium of sea life. One of my favorite things about Belize was the variety of options you can do while there; one day I was climbing a ruin watching for monkeys in the trees and the next day I was swimming in the ocean with sharks.
