Email Me Travel Inquiry Form Registration Form | Payment Form | Travel Lead FormThe Sun Princess and Star Princess are the two ships in Princess Cruise Line's Sphere Class. I sailed on the Sun Princess, and since the ships are so similar, I think my experience can apply to both. they are both turning heads across the cruise world. If you want to make the most of your sailing, there are a few helpful tips based on my personal experience.
5. Don’t stress about getting your Medallion before you sail
4. Don’t forget to bring your own soda or water if you skip Princess Plus or Premier
If you’re not a big alcohol drinker and choose not to upgrade to Princess Plus or Princess Premier, here’s a smart money-saving tip: Don't forget to bring your own soda. Princess Cruises allows each guest to bring a 12-pack of canned soda or water (bottles are not permitted) onboard, and it’s perfect for stocking your stateroom. This little trick keeps you refreshed without paying cruise-ship prices for every soft drink. I also recommend doing the math to see if Princess Plus or Premier is worth the cost to you! Sometimes it is, and sometimes it's not.
3. Don’t believe all the negativity about the new layout
You may have read complaints about limited seating in the Sun Princess’s new theater-in-the-round or other design changes—but in real life, it’s much less of an issue. We typically dined early and attended the second show, arriving about 15 minutes before showtime, and there were always seats available. Plus, with the circular layout, nearly every seat has a great view. The Piazza is set up a little differently, but personally, I loved it. There are a couple restaurants that flow right into the piazza area, and while I did not dine there myself, I can see how it can get a little loud! Check your schedule and choose dining times around the main events in the Piazza.
2. Don’t forget to pack your patience when you’re ready to embark
I sailed out of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale in November 2025, and while we arrived right at the start of our check-in window, the lines to get into the terminal were long. The slowest part was the security checkpoint, which only had two screening stations open at the time. Once we made it through the scanners and metal detectors, the process became much smoother. A little patience at the start of the day will set the tone for a much more relaxed embarkation experience.
1. Don’t wait to book your dining reservations
This is the big one. Book your dining as early as possible in the Princess app. If you’ve upgraded to Princess Premier, you’ll want to take full advantage of your specialty dining—but those restaurants fill up fast. While availability sometimes opens closer to sailing, if there’s a venue you’re excited about, reserve it as soon as you can to avoid disappointment. In most cases, dining reservations are available in the app as soon as your cruise is paid in full. Premium status and suite guests are able to make reservations immediately after booking their cruise.
The Sun Princess is a spectacular ship, and these small tips can go a long way toward making your cruise more enjoyable and stress-free.
If you’re thinking about sailing the Sun or Star Princess and want help picking the perfect itinerary or stateroom, I’d love to help! You can fill out my travel request and I'll be in touch. 🚢

Anne King at Vincent Vacations did an amazing job not only helping us select and plan our vacation but also providing support all the way until we returned home. Her expertise, attention to detail, and prompt responses made the entire process stress-free for us. I am incredibly grateful for her assistance when we encountered a delayed flight situation—thanks to her, we actually arrived home 30 minutes earlier than our original flight! I will definitely be recommending Anne’s services to friends and family in the future!
**Anne planned a Caribbean adult getaway from the Chicago area in February to escape the cold!

**Anne created a unique Caribbean honeymoon at a small boutique resort featuring private villa-style rooms with ocean views and hammocks on the balcony.
-David F.

**Anne planned a 7-night Caribbean cruise for a family requiring multiple staterooms.
-Linda A.
My family and I went on an cruise that Anne set up for us. From the plane tickets, transport from airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the port terminal, the cruise itself and the trip home. Everything went smooth for us. I wasn't sure on a couple of things, but I shouldn't of because we had no problems at all. We enjoyed our trip and time together because it was all taken care of. Just too many things to take care, so it was great that it was all handled for us. We will use Anne again.
-Oldguy
Anne helped us with our son's destination wedding at Beaches Resorts Dunn's River in Jamaica. We had the best time. The resort is gorgeous and the food was really good. We really appreciate Anne's help with coordinating travel for those that attended the wedding. We look forward to booking a European River Cruise with her, as well as our other son's honeymoon (he proposed in Jamaica while we were there)!
-Mary L.
5-stars! Anne helped me find a place for a long weekend getaway with my husband. She listened to the details I was looking for and suggested The Hideaway at Royalton. We really enjoyed the stay. It was exactly what I was looking for when I set out on planning the trip, but I’ve never been to an all inclusive or Jamaica so I wouldn’t have found it without her. The property was beautiful and the view from our room was spectacular. We really enjoyed the buffet dining room. The steak there was every bit as good as the steak we had at the steakhouse.
-Leslie M.
We had such an amazing experience in Costa Rica, thanks to Anne! She was nothing but great and super helpful with all of our questions and concerns. We were traveling international for the first time and she made the process very easy! We can’t wait to book our next one!
-Gabbi R.
We recently went to the UK and Anne King at Vincent Vacations was invaluable in arranging our trip. Our flights were great, the accommodations were comfortable and centrally located to all we planned to do. Our tours were exactly what we wanted. Our private transport from the airport to the hotel and the hotel back to the airport were on time and personable. We will definitely use Vincent Vacations for our next big trip.
-Karen E.
5-stars! Anne and Vincent Vacations are excellent and highly recommended! Anne helped my wife Tiffany, our friends, and me plan a wonderful Eastern Caribbean cruise aboard the Enchanted Princess! It was a unique and unforgettable adventure! Thank you, Anne!
-Anthony H.
Anne King at Vincent Vacations helped me plan a trip of a lifetime. I narrowed my travel destination to two places then Anne suggested the Netherlands and I was all in. She helped plan a seamless vacation including flights, hotel, transportation, museums and tours. This trip definitely exceeded my expectations. I will definitely use her and Vincent Vacations again.

Multi-generation family vacation before Christmas 2023
We had a great experience and would highly recommend Iberostar Tucan. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean a comfortable. Pool and beach were both well stocked with seating so there was none of that “reserving your seats at dawn or there will be no where to sit”.
The food was good and could be great depending on your individual preferences. Personally, I really enjoyed the Japanese Hibachi grill experience and the smokehouse BBQ was excellent. My oldest son thought the Smokehouse pulled pork was the best he’d ever had. Tiffany loved the Crème Brûlée at the Mediterranean restaurant, my 16 year old son thought the pizza crust at the Italian restaurant was the best.
Buildings 14 and 15 have the best views, facing the interior jungle. There is an abundance of wildlife in the “jungle”. We were greeted each morning by acrobatic monkeys swinging through the canopy right outside our balcony. Peacocks and Lemurs are a common sight throughout the resort. There was even a big iguana living beneath the patio of our building (14) that greeted us each day basking in the sun.
Transportation via Amstar both to and from the resort was great. Vehicles were in excellent shape, clean, comfortable and professional driven.
We arrange an outing to Tulum via Amstar and our guide spoke both English and German to accommodate some of the German guest joining us on our trip to Tulum.
Overall the resort was in great shape. I saw no indications of any deferred maintenance or lack of attention to the buildings or grounds. As mentioned previously, the staff were super friendly and helpful. We were always greeted with a smile and a “how can we help” attitude.
We will definitely return someday.
-Steve W.
We had an epic time on our Honeymoon in Antigua at Beaches Resorts Antigua Grand Resort! Call Anne she was our travel agent and she made the trip so easy to plan and even helped us with a crazy dilemma that happened with our plane being late. She turned disaster into a great night for us! Please call Anne of you need help booking any trip!!!

-Patrick E.
My husband and I worked with Anne for our honeymoon to Jamaica and she was FANTASTIC! She was so easy to work with and SO knowledgeable on every question we asked. She took care of everything for all of our travels which made it so easy for us. We had never been out of the country before so we were a bit nervous and she made everything so seamless and easy. We will 100% go through her for all of our travels in the future!
-Mallory C.

Our vacations was really really good. Was a blast every day--something different on a regular. We did the free excursions. It was super awesome overall. Thank you so much for helping us out. We will definitely get with you on our next trip out for Ocho Rios.

🌺 Where to Stay on Kauai: How to Choose the Right Resort for Your Vacation
The pictures have done their job. You’re officially ready to go to Kauai — the Garden Island filled with emerald mountains, golden beaches, and those dreamy Instagram sunsets. But once you’ve decided to book the trip, the next big question hits:
Where should you stay on Kauai?
Your best friend’s honeymoon, your brother’s golf getaway, or all those gorgeous Reddit and Instagram photos may have inspired you, but choosing the right resort depends on how you want to travel and what matters most to you: beach quality, convenience, romance, family‑friendly amenities, or overall value.
After spending time on Kauai recently, I’ve found that the South Shore (Poipu) and the East Side (Lihue/Wailua) offer the best mix of sunshine, beaches, and easy access to the island’s top sights. Below are my top four Kauai resorts — who they’re best for, what makes each special, and how to choose the right one for your trip.
🌴 Ko‘a Kea Resort on Poipu Beach
Best for: Couples, honeymoons, quiet luxury
Ko‘a Kea is a boutique luxury resort on one of Poipu’s best beaches, with fewer than 120 rooms. That creates an intimate, peaceful atmosphere perfect for romance. Honeymooners receive a lei greeting and personal escort to their room, setting the tone for a special stay.
Poipu Beach is just steps away, offering swimmable conditions most of the year, stunning sunrises and sunsets, and frequent visits from honu (Hawaiian green sea turtles) and ‘īlio holo i ka uaua (Hawaiian monk seals —literally translating to “the dog that runs in rough water”).
You’re only 30 minutes from LIH airport and close to shopping, dining, golf, and marina excursions. Don’t miss sunrise yoga or the famous lemon soufflé pancakes at Red Salt.
Why book Ko‘a Kea: A quiet, upscale, beachfront escape designed for couples who want luxury without the crowds.
🌺 Sheraton Kaua‘i Resort (Poipu)
Best for: Families, multi‑gen groups, active travelers
Sheraton Kaua‘i sits on a beautiful stretch of Poipu Beach with excellent swimming conditions and a lively, family‑friendly atmosphere. With multiple dining options on property — plus favorites like Puka Dog and The Beach House nearby — you’ll never run out of places to eat. Frequent visitors consistently praise The Beach House for having the best sunset views on the island.
Activities are a major highlight: surf lessons, lei making, hula and ukulele classes, snorkeling, boogie boarding, and more. The on‑site luau is a huge perk since you don’t have to drive anywhere!
Room categories span a wide range of budgets, making it easy for families or groups to stay together without sacrificing comfort.
Why book Sheraton Kaua‘i: A beachfront resort with great swimming, tons of activities, and a moderate price point — ideal for families and couples who want energy and convenience.
🌅 Royal Sonesta Kaua‘i Resort (Lihue)
Best for: Travelers who want convenience, big‑resort amenities, and a great pool
Just minutes from the airport, Royal Sonesta offers a wide golden‑sand beach, calm bay waters, and dramatic mountain views. Sunrises here are spectacular.
This is a large, full‑service resort with multiple dining options, including Duke’s Kauai down the beach, plus restaurants within walking distance. The standout feature is the massive, lagoon‑style pool — one of the best on the island.
Because of its location, you can easily stay here without renting a car. If you do rent one, the hotel’s on‑demand shuttle makes pickup simple and can save you money on rental & parking fees.
Why book Royal Sonesta: A convenient, affordable beachfront resort with one of Kauai’s best pools — perfect for travelers who prefer lounging by the water over ocean swimming.
🌊 OUTRIGGER Kaua‘i Beach Resort & Spa (Lihue/Wailua)
Best for: Value seekers, explorers, and travelers who love resort amenities
Located about 10 minutes north of the airport, the OUTRIGGER offers a relaxed, mid‑range resort experience with ocean views and a great central location for exploring the island.
While the ocean here isn’t swimmable due to strong currents, the resort makes up for it with four pools, a waterslide, a cascading waterfall, and a whirlpool. Many rooms have been recently renovated with fresh, modern Hawaiian décor.
Upgrading to the Voyager 47 Club adds exclusive lounge access with complimentary breakfast, evening cocktails, and upgraded amenities — the closest thing to an all‑inclusive experience on Kauai.
This location is ideal for day trips to the North Shore, including Wailua Falls, Kilauea Lighthouse, Hanalei Bay, and Hā‘ena State Park. The drive alone is worth it, with dramatic mountain peaks rising right beside the road.
Why book OUTRIGGER Kaua‘i: A great value for travelers who want a resort feel, updated rooms, and a central location for exploring — without needing a swimmable beach at the hotel.

Kauai surprised me — in the best possible way.
I first visited the Garden Isle nearly 20 years ago when my kids were young. It was March, it was cold and rainy, and my memories were mostly gray skies and soggy beach towels. I remembered the blowhole, the chickens, a few scenic drives, and not much else. Honestly, I left thinking Kauai just wasn’t for me.
Fast forward to April 2026. My husband and I booked a very last‑minute trip — just four nights, three full days — to give Kauai another chance.
And you know what? I fell completely in love. Kauai is now my new favorite Hawaiian island.
If you’re considering a trip to Kauai — whether for beaches, hiking, food, or pure relaxation — here’s exactly what we experienced, what surprised me, and how I help clients plan the perfect Kauai vacation.
Arrival Day: Sunshine, Sea Turtles & Settling Into Poipu
We landed around 1:30 p.m. local time and made a quick stop at Walmart near the airport to stock our kitchenette with breakfast items, snacks, water, and drinks. From there, it was a short drive to Poipu, where we stayed at the Sheraton Kauai Villas — right across the street from the full‑service Sheraton Kauai Resort on the beach.
Jet lag was hitting hard, so we walked down to Poipu Beach for golden hour to help us stay awake. The light on the south shore is magical — warm, soft, and glowing across the sand and water.
And then came the moment that instantly shifted my mood: the Hawaiian green sea turtles (honu) arriving to rest on the beach.

There is a difference between reading about a destination and truly understanding it.
As a travel advisor, I don’t just research itineraries — I experience them. I walk the beaches, sail the rivers, explore the cities, and immerse myself in the culture so I can guide my clients with genuine and honest insight. This is how I transform vacations into meaningful, personalized experiences. And it’s why my clients can book their trips with confidence, knowing their recommendations come from real‑world experience, not guesswork.
Why Working With a Travel Advisor Who Travels Matters
Anyone can search online for “best resorts in Cancun” or “top Danube River cruises,” but those results don’t tell the whole story. When I’m on the ground, I’m paying attention to the details that matter to real travelers — the things you can’t always find in reviews or brochures.

If you’ve ever been to Maui—or are planning your very first vacation to this beautiful Hawaiian island—you may have heard about the iconic Mama’s Fish House.
Located on the north shore of Maui in Paia, Hawaii, Mama’s Fish House is about 20 minutes from Kahului Airport and sits right at the beginning of the famous Road to Hana. If you're staying in Wailea, expect about a 45-minute drive. If you're based in Ka’anapali, plan for roughly an hour on the road.
Mama’s Fish House got its start in the 1960s, thanks to the Christenson family and their first trip to Maui. When they opened the restaurant at its current location in 1973, most dining options on the island were steakhouses. They wanted guests to know that they served primarily fish. Not only fish, but LOCAL fish. Soon after, a loyal following began, and now some 50 years later, the restaurant is not only iconic, but very popular, and in my opinion worth a visit.
Over the past 50 years, Mama’s has developed a loyal following and has become one of Maui’s most popular and iconic restaurants.
We visited Mama’s most recently in February 2025. We were lucky enough to snag a reservation at 2:20 p.m. about a week before our arrival. Typically, reservations fill up six months in advance, so be sure to book yours as soon
I recommend a reservation before the sun goes down. The area is so beautiful, you won’t want to miss seeing any of it. I also recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before your reservation. Photo opportunities are endless, and you don’t want to feel rushed.
Something you need to know ahead of time. Mama’s Fish House is expensive. Dining anywhere in Hawaii is going to be a bit pricey, but you’ll need to find a little extra in your budget for a meal here. Our meal (two people) came to $300 including tip. We each enjoyed: A mocktail, appetizer, main dish, and we shared a dessert. We didn’t splurge on the most expensive items but didn’t hold back either.
Many people might gasp at the cost—and understandably so—but if you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for a truly memorable and upscale Hawaiian dining experience, Mama’s is absolutely worth the splurge.
3 of My Favorite Things About Mama's Fish House
*The fish is incredibly fresh and delicious. The menu is printed daily and adjusted for the catches they received that day. They tell you exactly where the fish was caught. The chefs really know what they are doing. Everything is cooked to perfection and presented in impeccable fashion. My all-time favorite dish is the fish collar. Think of it like a seafood version of bone-in chicken wings. It varies depending on what they catch, and always delicious.
*The service is always impeccable. Starting with the valets, and all the way through dessert, everyone is always friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Our server even knew that paprika is a form of bell pepper when discussing food allergies!
*The setting is as Hawaiian as you can get. From the minute you step out of the car, it feels a bit like you’ve been transported back in time to a very special Aloha era. The beach, the building, the décor, and the historical memorabilia are all worth savoring. So, take your time and enjoy it all.
Is Mama’s Fish House worth it? Absolutely.
It’s a once-in-a-lifetime dining experience that captures the heart and spirit of Maui—perfect for a special night out during your Hawaiian vacation.
If you have any other questions about Mama’s Fish House or traveling to Maui, I’d love to hear from you!

Why use a travel advisor when traveling during hurricane season?
I am currently sitting on my hotel room in Clearwater, Florida. We were supposed to be in Jamaica right now, but Hurricane Beryl is headed for a direct hit. So...we changed our plans. (The biggest red island in the picture is Jamaica--currently under a hurricane warning.)
But that's not the point of this post.
I have clients in Cancun right now. (See the pink line on the map, which is currently a hurricane watch for The Yucatan.) They arrived on Sunday and have been having a fabulous time as a family. They are supposed to leave for home on Friday...the same day Hurricane Beryl is supposed to hit the Cancun area.
My clients were wise and purchased travel insurance. If they do face cancellations or long delays, their additional expenses will be reimbursed. Knowing that is helping them to be proactive.
As the storm's path has been developing, I've been watching. This morning, while they are enjoying their vacation, I booked them new flights home on Saturday. They now have a guaranteed way home if things get dicey on Friday and their original flights get canceled. Flights are always the hardest part in situations like these. We will get them an extra night at the hotel when we know more.
If they are able to leave as scheduled, they will have flight credit to use on future travel. If they get stuck, they have flights home and won't have to wait in endlessly long lines at the Cancun airport.
All this done while they enjoy a snorkel trip as a family. They aren't scrambling trying to figure things out. I'm sure there is some stress regarding the unknown, but for now, they are OK.
This is what I do as your travel advisor. Even when I'm on vacation myself!
Lessons from this experience?
1. Hire a travel advisor to help you with your vacations!
2. Buy travel insurance--especially during Hurricane Season!

Jamaica!! It's a place where the sun dances on the turquoise waves, where the air is filled with the rhythm of reggae, and every moment feels like paradise!
I absolutely love this gem of the Caribbean and think everyone should vacation here at least once in their lives.
Here are a few reasons why
The Beaches: There are so many picture-perfect stretches of powdery sand, swaying palm trees, and sunsets like no other. Whether you're lounging in the shade of a thatched-roof cabana, snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters, or simply strolling along the shoreline, Jamaica's beaches are a slice of paradise. My favorite is 7-mile beach in Negril.
The People: From the moment you step off the plane, you're greeted with smiles as warm as the Jamaican sun. The service here is more than just friendly; it's genuine, heartfelt, and always delivered with a side of Jamaican charm. Whether you're chatting with a local vendor at the market, being served a fruity drink on the beach at your resort, or being serenaded by a street musician, you can't help but feel the joy and positivity in every interaction.
The Food: Jamaica is a culinary delight, with flavors and influences that will tantalize your taste buds and leave you craving more. From the fiery heat of jerk chicken to the comforting embrace of a Jamaican meat patty, every dish tells a story of tradition, history, and passion. And the best part? You'll find these mouthwatering delights everywhere you go--from roadside shacks, to the all-inclusive resorts, and at any of the amazing five-star restaurants overlooking the ocean.
The Convenience: Getting to Jamaica from DFW couldn't be easier. There are regular flights, many non-stop, between Dallas Airports (DFW or DAL) and the MBJ International Airport. Whether you're planning a quick weekend getaway or a longer escape, you'll find that Jamaica is an easy flight away. The convenience makes it the perfect destination for spontaneous adventures, indulgent honeymoons, destination weddings, anniversary trips and more.
The Safety: While no one can guarantee a trouble-free vacation, tourist safety is a top priority here. Tourism is the countries largest industry, and therefore they have many dedicated efforts to ensure that visitors feel secure and well-cared for throughout their stay. Jamaica goes above and beyond to see that your vacation is worry-free and filled with nothing but the best memories. It is essential for travelers to exercise typical caution and be mindful of their surroundings. Keep with reputable guided tours, avoid sketchy areas (especially at night), and enjoy the many amenities offered at your resort.
Jamaica stole my heart from the first moment I arrived, and it continues to be one of my favorite destinations. From its breathtaking beaches and friendly service, to its mouthwatering cuisine and ease of travel, Jamaica is a destination like no other. It's a place where every moment feels like a dream and every day is a celebration of life, love, and the beauty of the Caribbean.

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya is the perfect option for a weekend getaway or short-stay vacation.
Located only 15 minutes from Cancun Airport, it is easy to get to and you can be at the pool by afternoon on your day of arrival.
Resort highlights:
• Adults only
• All-inclusive
• New resort, opened June 1, 2023
• On-site brewery
• Large pool
• Daytime and nighttime activities on site
The room: I stayed at this hotel in March 2024 in a King Paradise Room. The room was spacious with bright and fresh décor and furnishings. There is plenty of space to stretch out and ample storage. There is a large walk-in shower and great lighting in the bathroom. I really appreciated the newness of the resort—everything was clean and fresh.
The Minibar: You’ll find a unique mini-bar setup with a lime juicer, margarita glasses, and a cocktail shaker in your room. Don’t let the empty fridge throw you! Based on your room category and the number of nights of your stay, you will receive points to use in Joe Merchant’s Coffee & Provisions. You’ll shop for your soda, snacks, beer & liquors like you do in a convenience store. This gives you the ability to completely customize your room’s minibar. It’s a bit confusing in the beginning, but makes sense when you work through the process.
The Pools: there are 4 pools on the property. The highlight is the main pool with the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Swim-up Bar. This is where you’ll find the foam parties, DJ’s, and games. Other pools are more quiet. There was plenty of pool chairs and cabanas. You won’t want to miss the famous floating avocado boat (additional charge) where you can munch on tacos, chips, salsas and guacamole while you are in the pool.
The Food: Everything I ate at the 3 a la carte and 1 food display restaurants was delicious! The food display is a spin on buffet dining where they keep the selections fresh by presenting smaller serving dishes in each area. There are plenty of choices, including a gluten-free bakery section. Every a la carte meal was fantastic with a steakhouse, an Italian restaurant, and a grill and brewery. Service was top-notch everywhere. The only downside in dining that I experienced was room service. You order on the app, and delivery was right on time—amazing!! However, my choices left a lot to be desired, and I would have been better off going to buffet (food display).
The Beach: Don’t be surprised…there is none. The waves come right up to the edge of the property. There is no room for beach chairs. At the time I was there, we weren’t even allowed to step on the sand. The water close to the property isn’t the prettiest. If you are a “pool person” and putting your toes in the sand isn’t a requirement for a fabulous vacation, you can still enjoy the beautiful views of the ocean—especially at sunrise in the morning and twilight in the evening.
Overall recommendation: I would highly recommend this property to a couple looking for a weekend getaway or a girl’s trip looking for lively pool activities and fun evening entertainment. Four nights would be plenty. More than that, and you may get bored. I was there during the week, and it was fairly quiet. As we were leaving on a Friday, the crowd and atmosphere was definitely getting more lively. If a beautiful beach and pristine clear ocean are a must, this isn’t the resort for you.

In January 2023, I left my Corporate America job after 15+ years. I traded accounting for adventure, and began my new career as an Independent Travel Advisor with Vincent Vacations. Our first adventure in my new life was a biggie! My husband and I planned a 2-week trip to Thailand to celebrate my new opportunities. I would go back in a minute, with several things I'd do again.
Here are my top 5 Thailand adventures that will hopefully inspire you to take the leap and plan your Bucket List Adventure.
#5 - Food: Thai food is one of my all-time favorite cuisines. So much flavor and so many options. Pad Thai in Thailand is 1000 times better than what you can get in the US, and I love our local Thai restaurants! Other favorites: Thai lobster, mango sticky rice, pork skewers and Thai basil chicken. We found inexpensive meat on a stick at the night markets to eggs, rice and chili for breakfast from 7-11. We dined in more luxury at The House of Smooth Curry (one of the many restaurants at The Athenee Hotel in Bangkok). Some of our favorites were the locally recommended places that didn't look like much, but the flavors were fantastic, like Go-Ang Pratunam Chicken in Bangkok.

#4 - Temples: We explored so many beautiful Buddhist Temples. What resonated the most with me was the detailed artistry that was done centuries ago. From Wat Phra Kaew (home of the Emerald Buddha) and Wat Pho (home of the largest reclining Buddha) in Bangkok, to Wat Chiang Man (the oldest temple in Chiang Mai) and Wat Saen Muang Ma Luang (at hidden gem in Old City) in Chiang Mai, I was in awe. Pictures are beautiful, but to really appreciate the temples, you must visit in person.
#3 - Night markets: Southeast Asia is known for it's lively night markets. Stall after stall, and a sea of patrons strolling through--there's nothing like it. You can find dinner & dessert, get a pedicure, buy a new wardrobe, and mingle with locals and tourists alike. We went to several, and our favorite was Jodd Fairs market. Next time, I promise I'll eat the scorpion on a stick!
#2 - Elephant Sanctuary: While in Phuket, we visited the The Elephant Jungle Sanctuary. While people back home were watching the Super Bowl, we were spending the day with 3 gentle giants. We fed them, scrubbed them with mud, and rinsed them off in their own private swimming hole. Do your research! You want to pick a sanctuary with high humane standards. NEVER RIDE AN ELEPHANT!

#1 - Islands and Beaches: There is no shortage of beautiful beaches in Thailand. Our first beach stop was the lively and popular Patong Beach in Phuket. It felt a lot like Honolulu--lots of people, lots of activities, and so much to see within walking distance of almost anywhere. Our last beach stop was Koh Samui. We saw the Angthong Marine Park limestone islands up close on a semi-private tour that included snorkeling, kayaking, and the most fabulous sunset. Highly recommend!

Imagine it's two days after your wedding day. You've planned that special day for several months, if not a year or more. Everything goes off without a hitch. You're surrounded by those you love and who love you to start your new life as Mr. & Mrs.
You planned your honeymoon with a professional travel advisor, and have been working on the details for a few months. Passports are in order, airline tickets and 5-star all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean is confirmed and paid for. Sunscreen and swimsuits are packed.
You have multiple flights to get to your honeymoon, and everything starts out OK. The flight to JFK leaves the gate on time, but then sits on the runway for what feels like forever and you arrive late. You are in main cabin, so have to wait for everyone to get off the plane before you can start your sprint to another terminal. When you arrive at the connection gate, they've already closed the doors, and now you've missed the flight!
Panic sets in. The crew at the airport are not super helpful, and you are getting a little frustrated. But...you have a travel advisor! You call her. She calms you down a little bit and starts to make calls to find out all of the options. She talks you through getting on stand-by for the first flight out the next day. She helps talk you through planning to file a travel protection claim when you get home (keep your receipts!!!). She finds a hotel and is able to extend your stay with the resort. You get an unscheduled night in New York City and get to explore a bit. You get a good night sleep, make it to the airport early, and are fortunate enough to get on the flight.
What you initially thought was going to be disaster and ruin your dream honeymoon turns into a couple bumps in the road along the way. Your travel advisor not only has helped navigate the challenges, but she's reduced the stress at least a little bit.
Without the travel advisor to assist, you would have been left to figure things out on your own. Having someone to advocate for you can make a difference. It's worth it!!
